The Buffalo Bill Killer: Shawn Hochuli

This guy loves Mahomes more than anyone...

The Buffalo Bill Killer: Shawn Hochuli

The NFL has just named the referee for the Bills-Chiefs game and oh boy are fans upset.

See the last time this guy was the referee for a Buffalo Bills game, his Wikipedia page was changed to describe him as "an Eagles fan."

This is Shawn Hochuli and he has a tough history with the Bills.

Hochuli will be in charge of the all-star crew that has been assigned Sunday's AFC divisional playoff game between the Bills and Kansas City Chiefs at Highmark Stadium.

In the Bills' 37-34 overtime loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in November, the Bills were flagged 11 times for 80 yards against. In the first half, 10 of those were committed, setting the Bills back 75 yards.

The Bills were called for six penalties in the first quarter, the most in a game this season. On the other side, the Eagles were penalized just four times for 40 yards.

For what it's worth, the Bills are 1-3 with Hochuli as the referee. Among them was Hochuli's first game after being promoted from back judge, though, you can't blame that one on him as the Bills started Nathan Peterman in the 2018 season opener at Baltimore.

For all those Bills fans who are DMing me saying I only talk about their flaws cause I am a Dolphins fan, this is a stat for you: Hochuli’s crew called 21 penalties in a Bills' loss to the Miami Dolphins later in the 2018 season. The Bills were penalized 13 times for 120 yards. The Dolphins were flagged eight times for 89 yards.

Now when looking at his games reffing for the Chiefs this is seemingly a guy that loves himself some Partick Mahomes. The Chiefs are 8-2 during the Mahomes era with Hochuli including 2-0 in the playoffs.

Now no matter what this game will be epic. The Bills, for what feels like the first time ever will actually host the Kansas City Chiefs at Highmark Stadium this Sunday at 6:30.

This game will be the eighth meeting between the two teams since the 2020 season, which is amazing considering the fact they are not in the same division. This is the third meeting in the postseason for this current Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen-led teams.

This is actually the first time ever, outside of the Super Bowl, that Patrick Mahomes will play in a playoff game on the road, so we are in for a classic.

But we can only hope that referees don’t play a part in ruining this game and just let the guys play cause we sure know when the Bills and Chiefs take the field there is almost always another case of Foul Play…
